Karen McCarron was sentenced to 36 years in prison for the murder of her 3-year-old autistic daughter Katie. Not a bad way to kick off Autism Awareness Month.

Back on November twenty-second I reported an event in the case of Nicholas and Elizabeth DeGroot, who locked their nineteen-year-old autistic son inside their apartment and set it on fire, burning him to death. I've searched the archives, but I can't find last year's posts about the DeGroot family of Oregon, though I'm sure this community is where I first read about them.
